Welcome to Anna's Hummingbird Music Studio!
There is no age limit to learning how to play or appreciating music! At Anna's Hummingbird Music Studio, Anna offers group music lessons for children (and their parents) ages 18 months to 5 in a group setting with the Musikgarten curriculum, and provides private piano lessons for children ages 5 and up.
Piano students learn basic piano concepts and music literacy foundations through the 'My First Piano Adventures' method books from Faber & Faber. As students progress through these books, they will also be instructed in the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum. Anna also encourages students to learn and play pieces that they like from various genres- pop, classical, jazz, ect. The joy of music making spans all genres and generations! Adult lessons are also taught from the Faber & Faber method books as a basis, with room to learn all different styles of music.

Investing in music lessons is an investment with a life-long return! Learning an instrument is one way for children to grow personally in their developmental skills, as well as in building character and confidence. Thank you for choosing Anna's Hummingbird Music Studio as your child's place of learning. However, much of music learning and true enjoyment comes from the home, where a child is encouraged in their piano practice routine. A wonderful studio sayings is 'Practice Makes Progress'. Aiming for perfection is not the ultimate goal, but progressing, learning and growing in musical skill and enjoyment is. Investing time daily into music both at home and in the lesson will ensure progress! As your child's piano teacher, I (Anna) will commit to keeping you informed of your child's progress and musical development. The role of the parent or guardian at home is to encourage and promote piano practice as part of a daily routine. Piano lessons are much more than just an extra-curricular activity, they are an investment in life-long learning and enjoyment of music!
